We love how the city offers so many diverse family and dog-friendly activities where we can go to see outdoor movies like Madagascar 3, then take the pups to see a full Shakespeare production.
The other weekend Miss M and Mr B joined the masses to watch the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre's traveling production of The Comedy of Errors as it hit our local park.
Much like Shakespeare included both low and high-brow humor to appeal to a diverse audience, the play also happened to appeal to a Miss M and Mr B along with their doberman friend Vegas and pitbull friend Aggie among the audience.
I once read a book where it said the fun of watching a play was seeing how the audience reacted. Miss M was especially attentive watching all the action on the stage for most of the play. It was a bit more interactive than a typical movie including yelling, acrobatics and running through the audience.
Mr. B didn't even realize he was part of the play! Here is one of the Dromio actors hiding in the audience behind an unsuspecting Mr. B.
This version was especially entertaining using vaudeville-style acrobatics making it fun to watch even if you couldn't understand what they were saying.
They still have a couple of shows left, and our friend Aggie even has a cameo in the montage video here.
